The experience of T O U C H
Technology influences the methods an artist creates. The advent of photography was really the birth of contemporary and modern art. With that invention, painters no longer had to replicate reality, they now had to interpret reality. Much like the inventions of new technologies, the 2010’s saw the mass incorporation of touchscreens into our every day life. As a reaction to the technology, and an artist with a muse complex, these were digital works deployed on instagram, created by method of removing what was desirable, and obscuring the original image, and filling what was desired with a story, a piece of work, an intangible string between two alternate realities that converged in one moment.
Now at least we know everything that painting isn't.
